Last week stop closed up, with positive news from a major employment report, easing fears that the country is headed in a recession. Both the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the S&P 500 closed at record highs. The Nasdaq also closed up, but it is still about 50 percent off what it used to be. On Monday October 8th, Markets in Asia took cues from Wall Street's rally, with benchmark indexes in South Korea and Shanghai soaring to record highs.
With new earnings report this week, investors will get to see how companies are performing with the economy slowing down. Set to report this week are GE, Alcoa, and Yum Brands.
